My friend, Em, suggested to before she left Texas that I should blog. She started with her precious little boy, Grey, to keep in touch with family and friends back in Texas and beyond, and well I must confess I have become addicted to blogstalking her and even others that I don't even know!
So here I am, with family and friends across this massive state and the US giving into the addiction. To justify my reasoning I like to think that it is a great way to keep grandparents, aunts and uncles, and our long lost friends up to speed on our kiddos and our lives.
I called this blog 'Through the Eye's of a Child' because lets be honest, what do all moms talk about, their kids. I am sure it will be a mix of my own children at home, including my husband, as well as some of my adopted kiddos at school. Right now with the coming of Addison's new baby brother it only seems fitting to post about her thoughts about Baby Christian! Here are some interesting facts that you learn about from a 2 1/2 year old when the second child starts coming around....
- The belly button becomes a "peep-hole." Addison told me one day, 'Mommy, I can't see him' as she peered through my shirt at my already popped out belly button.
- Children have no concept of time, she once mentioned that Christian will be here in 5 minutes, then we corrected her and told her it was 4 weeks, she started this week with saying that he would be here in 5 days.
- Children also have an weird sense of premonition. She knew from the beginning it was her 'Baby Brother' before we ever found out the sex of the baby. She also mentioned that Saturday, tomorrow, would be Baby Christian's birthday. We shall see if she is correct.
- Last, but the most important, a sister's love is unspeakable. Every morning and every night Addison loves to kiss and hug her baby brother. She talks to him and tells him how much she loves him. That is the truest example of a second child Through the Eye's of a Child.
